Special Transportation Fund Advisory Committee
In order to make informed decisions about transportation for seniors and individuals with disabilities, the SAMTD Board of Directors appoints an advisory committee to work with staff on these issues. This committee is called the Special Transportation Fund (STF) Advisory Committee and was initially set up under a mandate from ODOT, which administers Oregon’s Special Transportation Fund.

The STF Advisory Committee is made up of seniors, individuals with disabilities, and members of the public interested in improving transportation for these groups. It meets most months (call 503-588-2424 to confirm) and receives applications for STF and Federal Section 5310 projects whenever funds become available. Committee members will reference the Coordinated Public Transit - Human Services Transportation Plan and Section 5310 Program Management Plan in reviewing those applications. The SAMTD Board of Directors have the final authority for making funding determinations for Section 5310 and STF grants in Marion and Polk Counties.

The STF committee is currently seeking new members. For more information, CLICK HERE. You may also email planning@cherriots.org for information about membership requirements and a list of duties.
