Call for Art

Part of our Heritage and History in Transit Series

Cherriots is inviting artists, dreamers, and community visionaries to help transform a bus into a moving celebration of Pride and the power of connection.

We’re looking for original artwork that reflects the theme:

“Connecting Cultures, Creating Community”

The selected design will wrap a Cherriots bus and travel throughout Salem and Keizer beginning September 2025, seen and celebrated by thousands across our region. It's a high-visibility opportunity to share your art, your story, and your Pride.

Submission Guidelines

• Open to all artists
• Design must celebrate Pride and reflect the theme
• Original, non-AI-generated work only
• Must include the tagline: “Connecting Cultures, Creating Community” in the design
• Include a brief artist statement (up to 150 words) describing how your work represents Pride
• Artwork must be scalable to a bus wrap format
• Submit using the official template:
  • Bus Wrap Template (PDF)
  • Bus Wrap Template (Adobe Illustrator)

Important Dates

• Deadline to Submit August 15, 2025
• Bus Launch: September 2025

Buscamos obras de arte originales que reflejen el tema:

“Conectando Culturas, Creando Comunidad”

El diseño seleccionado envolverá un autobús Cherriots y viajará por Salem y Keizer a partir de septiembre de 2025, siendo visto y celebrado por miles de personas en nuestra región. Es una oportunidad de gran visibilidad para compartir tu arte, tu historia y tu Orgullo.

Directrices de envío

• Abierto a todos los artistas
• El diseño debe celebrar el Orgullo y reflejar el tema
• Solo obras originales, no generadas por IA
• Debe incluir el lema: "Conectando culturas, creando comunidad" en el diseño
• Incluya una breve declaración del artista (hasta 150 palabras) que describa cómo su obra representa el Orgullo
• La obra debe ser escalable a un formato de rotulación de autobús

We’re looking for high school students in the Salem-Keizer area to design a special bus wrap celebrating Women’s History Month 2026.

This project is part of our "Heritage and History in Transit" initiative, which aims to recognize the diverse cultures and communities we serve.

The winning design will be featured on a Cherriots bus, traveling throughout Salem and Keizer and seen by thousands of people.

Submission Details:

• Open to high school students in Salem/Keizer
• Theme: “Connecting Cultures, Creating Community”
• Original artwork only. No Artificial Intelligence-generated art.
• Include a brief description (150 words max)
• Submissions should be scalable to fit the dimensions of a bus wrap. For a better understanding of how art work will translate to a bus wrap and other specifications, review the below bus wrap template (available in PDF and Adobe Illustrator).
