Ride Salem – explore, commute, have fun!

26 July, 2022

Ride Salem officially launched its bike share program on June 22 at 1:00 p.m. with an event near the Downtown Transit Center at the corner of Chemeketa and Church St. Salem Mayor Chuck Bennett offered words of support at the ribbon cutting, which was also attended by Kiki Dohman of the Transportation Options program, along with many of the program sponsors and supporters. Additional bike share stations are located at the Northwest Rehabilitation Associates in West Salem, the corner of Church and Ferry, at the Park Place building on Front St., and near the Riverfront Park Carousel.

Starting in 2016, Evan Osborne started the conversation about bringing bike sharing to Salem. After several years of fund-raising, establishing a not-for-profit organization called Osborne Adventures, and working with the City of Salem, Ride Salem was launched in partnership with Massachusetts based bike-sharing company Zagster.

As a sponsor, Cherriots has two bikes in the fleet with our logo proudly displayed. We were also given five one-year passes that will be used as part of an incentive that will be available only to Cherriots employees.

If you are interested in joining, just download the Zagster app and join the Ride Salem Bike Share. Go to ridesalem.com for all the details.
