Fares Analysis

Every few years, Cherriots conducts a fares analysis to evaluate the equity and affordability of our fare structure and ensure that our prices align with the services we provide. Help us understand how various fare products and prices work for you by answering the following questions.

What is a COA?

A comprehensive operational analysis (COA) is a study Cherriots will use to learn how to make bus service better for our community. Starting in 2025, our team has been reviewing  Cherriots Local and Regional bus routes. We want to find ways to help people get to work, school, and important places more easily and quickly.

This study will help us understand what’s going well, what needs to change, and where we might need to add new bus service. It will also help us figure out how often buses should run in different areas. All of this will help us make better plans for the future of Cherriots.

Goals for the Analysis

Improve service efficiency by optimizing resources

Increase customer satisfaction by addressing operational challenges

Enhance the transit experience and attract new riders

Improve access to employment, healthcare, education, and recreation

Project Timeline

The estimated timeline below presents the steps Cherriots will take to produce a study that is comprehensive and collaborative, with a finished product that reflects the interests of those who live, work, and play in the Cherriots service area. This study is expected to be complete by December 2026.

A horizontal project timeline from Spring 2025 through Fall 2026. Above the timeline arrow, milestones include: Project Kickoff (Spring 2025), Questionnaire and Initial Community Input (Fall 2025), Community Input on Service Options (Summer 2026), and Community Input on Final Recommendations (Fall 2026).
