In summer 2021, Cherriots engaged Keen Independent Research to develop a sustainable Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Plan to guide the integration of diversity, equity and inclusion in all facets of the agency and its services.
Over the next year, Keen Independent Research evaluated equity at Cherriots using program analysis, quantitative metrics, community input, and more, to develop a roadmap for long-term DEI progress within the organization and the Salem region. Keen Independent Research sought input from local community members and stakeholders through a dedicated phone hotline, email, focus groups, virtual workshops and other means.
